Robot sex could become addictive, though.
Sex with robots would overtake human sex within two decades and people would fall in love with sex robots, say experts.
According to experts, robot sex could become addictive and may replace human sex as technology replaces human effort in many other areas.
“Robotic sex may become addictive. Sexbots would always be available and could never say no, so addictions would be easy to feed. People will rearrange their lives to accommodate their addictions,” Joel Snell, a robotics expert from Kirkwood College in Iowa told the Daily Star.
“Because they would be programmable, sexbots would meet each individual user’s needs,” he added.
By 2050, sex robots will be common and even human-robot marriage would take place, predicts David Levy from the University of Maastricht.
Though dealing with sex robots would be a difficult task, it could be better for the sex lives of human beings, say experts. They predict that robots may even become better partners in bed than humans.
“Who are we to judge people who want to have sex with robots? Let people enjoy sex robots – they will work in the same way couples introduce a toy into a sexual relationship. And if both parties are agreed, I see nothing wrong,” Gurpreet Singh, a sex therapist from Relate told The Daily Star.
However, once the addiction to sex robots becomes widespread, it will lead to many problems and an important one will be to deal with people having an addiction.
Yeoman and Michelle Mars of the University of Victoria Management School in Wellington, New Zealand, in their paper ‘Robots, men and sex tourism,’ predict that sex robots would replace human prostitutes by 2050.
