Gujarat government aims to set three Guinness World Records.
As Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to celebrate his 66th birthday on September 17, the nation is expecting to set three Guinness world records and one national record in connection with the celebrations, reported Indo-Asian News Service.
Modi’s native state Gujarat will organize some programs as part of his birthday celebration, which, if take place as planned, will set some new world records.
Gujarat government will distribute 17,000 kits among 11,223 differently-abled people. The program is expected to break the previous record for the maximum number of people in wheelchairs who form an image or logo set in the US in 2010. 346 wheelchair bound persons formed an image in 2010 in the US.
As many as 1000 wheelchair bound persons are expected to attend the function.
1000 hearing-impaired persons will be provided with hearing aids to set a new world record, breaking the previous record set in Australia. Along with this more than 1500 oil lamps will be lit at a single location simultaneously to set another record.
Modi, who will be celebrating his birthday in Gujarat, will attend the events organized by the state government. Apart from seeking blessings from his mother, Modi will be spending some time with the tribals and persons with disabilities.
“After his arrival in Ahmedabad on September 17, he will first go to Gandhinagar to seek blessings of his mother Hiraba and meet other family members,” Gujarat BJP spokesperson Bharat Pandya told Press Trust of India.
“The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Kadana-Hafeshwar irrigation project, which will provide water to several remote villages of this district. The program will be held at Limkheda during morning,” Padaliya added.
In the afternoon, the prime minister will go to Navsari to attend the programs held for the differently abled people.
“In Navsari, he [Mr. Modi] will meet more than 10,000 differently-abled people at a government function. The PM will distribute kits and government aids to beneficiaries. In Limkheda, he will meet tribals,†a senior government official was quoted as saying by The Hindu.
Modi is likely to hold a meeting with Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and BJP leaders of Gujarat where state assembly elections are scheduled for next year.
The state BJP wing will organize health check-up, and blood-donation camps to celebrate Modi’s birthday.
“Our workers will help people download the Prime Minister’s mobile app. We plan to ensure that the ‘Narendra Modi app’ is downloaded in at least half a million mobile phones in the State. The special drive for this purpose will be launched on September 17th,†State BJP president Jitu Vaghani told The Hindu.
