Twitter war continues.
It seems like Indian cricketers are continuously exhibiting their talent on social media platforms by giving replies to people who mock India.
Recently, veteran cricketer Virender Sehwag had shut up UK journalist Piers Morgan for mocking Indian athletes at the Rio Olympics.
Now, Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has shown his witty side by giving a fitting reply to a Pakistani cricket fan for making fun of the performance of India at Rio Paralympics.
A Pakistani Twitter user Affan going by the handle @mufc_affanf9 mocked India’s performance at the Rio Paralympics in response to a tweet by Ashwin congratulating Deepa Malik, who won a silver medal in Short Put.
“So these exceptionally talented men and women continue to inspire the nation. Well done. #DeepaMalik #legend,” tweeted the bowler on Monday.
Affan, a fan of Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi, couldn’t take it and he mocked India saying, “1.2 billion population and just 4 medals. LOL.”
Soon, Ashwin came up with a fitting reply to the user. “(R)anked as high as no 6 in the population chart, I wish you to go for the second medal. All the best brothers and sisters,” replied Ashwin.
Ashwin’s response led to a war of tweets between Twitter users in India and Pakistan.
“Pakistan can win a medal only if they start focusing on sports instead of bombing innocents,” said a Twitter user named Silly Point.
To this comment, Affan replied saying, “Yes, just like raping women earned you dozens of medals.”
“Thank God I don’t live in Pakistan. Nothing to celebrate except other’s defeat or failure,” replied Silly Point.
Meanwhile, another Twitter user, who also made fun of India’s performance in Paralympics, got another treatment from Ashwin.
Amir Nazar, the twitter user said, “Itni bari nation… Olympics may sirf 3 medals…. ha ha ha waht a joke.”
“I sincerely wish for our neighbors to be better than us and get 4 medals bare minimum,” replied Ashwin.
