The new project, titled ‘Yeh Raaste Hain Pyaar Ke’ would be a love story.
While the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association (IMPPA) and MNS have banned the Pakistani artists in India, legendary film maker in B Town Shyam Benegal wants to work with Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in a film based on Indo-Pak relations.
The new project, titled ‘Yeh Raaste Hain Pyaar Ke’ would be a love story of two souls from India and Pakistan hailing from the music world.
“I believe there couldn’t be a better time to put out a film that explores love and peace and promotes humanity. Faiz Ahmed Faiz wrote the famous poem, Black-Out, while the 1965 Indo-Pak war was underway. His Subh-e-azadi: Dawn of Independence faced protests. From 1947 till his death in 1984, Faiz composed poems in which he spoke lovingly about his land and its long-suffering people, their hopes and fears, joys and sorrows. I’m trying to capture that feeling through my film,” Mumbai Mirror quoted the director of the movie Harsh Narayan,
The director also said that they already approached Fawad Khan and asked him to play one of the musicians in the film despite the issue seems to be in a bad shape.
Recently, CBFC Chief Pahlaj Nihalani made it loud and clear that he is totally against Pakistani actors working in Bollywood films. Now, the CBFC Revamp Committee head Benegal is casting a Pakistani actor and let’s see how the things will move.
