A major portion of the film will be shot in the US.
Hollywood’s legendary star Al Pacino has been approached for a Dhanush-starrer Tamil movie and is rumoured to be in close discussion with the team as he seemed to be interested with the plot, reports Times of India.
“The makers of the film wanted a Hollywood actor. They have approached Al Pacino to play the part, and are negotiating the dates and other details. We are yet to know if he will be finalised –guess a formal announcement will be made soon. Also, a major portion of the film will be shot in the US, so they can get the Hollywood star to shoot there itself,” TOI quoted a source.
The movie, which is yet untitled will be Dhanush’s first association with director Karthik Subbaraj, who previously directed blockbuster movies such as ‘Pizza’ and ‘Jigarthanda’. Apparently, they had initially wanted Morgan Freeman to act in the movie, but after that fell through, they went to Al Pacino.
Earlier, Hollywood superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger attended the music launch of director Shankar’s ‘I’ and Shankar had tried to rope the actor to play the main antagonist in his upcoming Rajinikanth movie ‘Enthiran 2’. However, due to various reasons the director had to drop the idea.
Meanwhile National Award-winning actor Dhanush, who was last seen in ‘Thodari’ and is awaiting the release of ‘Kodi’, is himself making debut in Hollywood with the film titled “The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir Who Got Trapped In An Ikea Cupboard” under the direction of Iranian-French film maker Marjane Satrapi. The film will have actors like Uma Thurman and Alexandra Daddario in the lead roles.
