Singh to help during the transition process.
The departure of top executives from Twitter continues as the latest one to leave the California-based microblogging site is Parminder Singh, Managing Director Twitter for India, South East Asia, Middle East, and North Africa.
Parminder joined Twitter three years back after his stint with IBM and Apple. He was also the Business Head for Google India from 2007-2010. He announced his exit from Twitter through a series of tweets posted on Wednesday.
Earlier, India Head Rishi Jaitly and Vice President International Operation Shailesh Rao had announced their exit from Twitter in a similar style.
Interestingly, Singh, Jaitly, and Rao were colleagues in Google India during the same period. While at Google Jaitly managed the portfolio of Head of Public-Private Partnerships whereas Shailesh Rao, was the Managing Director at Google India.
Announcing his decision to leave Twitter, Singh said the microblogging site is currently in the process of reorganizing its operations and disaggregating its INSEA/ MENA activities.
He also tweeted that the INSEA regions will be merged with APAC (Asia Pacific) and the MENA regions will be clubbed with EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).
Singh’s later tweeted that his portfolio as the Managing Director will be handed over to Maya Hari, Managing Director South East Asia and India; the latter by Benjamin Ampen.
Singh will continue in Twitter till December, to help during the transition process, which according to his tweet has already begun.
