Sushma Swaraj was admitted to AIIMS on November 7.
External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday tweeted that she is on dialysis after suffering from kidney failure and is undergoing tests for kidney transplantation at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi.
“Presently, I am on dialysis. I am undergoing tests for a kidney transplant. Lord Krishna will bless,” Swaraj wrote.
Ms Swaraj’s tweet had drawn nearly 3,000 retweets and 4,300 likes and wishes and prayers poured in on Twitter for her speedy recovery, from both political leaders and common people alike.
“Her condition is stable. Her history of chronic diabetes has affected her kidney functioning. She is on dialysis,” PTI quoted sources at AIIMS.
The 64-year-old BJP leader, who has been suffering from diabetes for almost 20 years, was admitted to AIIMS on November 7. She is admitted to the cardio-neuro center under the supervision of Balram Airan, chief of the Cardio Thoracic Center.
Swaraj was admitted to AIIMS in April also after she complained of chest congestion. She was discharged after being treated for fever and pneumonia symptoms.
