Priyanka is the first South Asian female actor to ever win a People’s Choice Award.
Actress Priyanka Chopra earned herself a nomination at the People’s Choice Awards for Second time in a row and said on twitter that she is on top of the world.
Last year, the 34-year-old actress was nominated and eventually won the ‘Favorite Actress in a New TV Series’ award for her show Quantico and thus became the first South Asian female actor to win a People’s Choice Award.
Quantico is currently airing its second season and Priyanka is now nominated for the ‘Favourite Dramatic TV Series Actress’ award for her role Alex Parrish.
“Thank you @peopleschoice for the nomination.. @QuanticoTV and I…2nd time in a row.. Means the world,” Priyanka tweeted after nominations were announced.
Reports say that she will be competing with Ellen Pompeo, Taraji P Henson, Kerry Washington and Viola Davis for the prestigious award.
Quantico has also been nominated, in the category of ‘Favourite Network TV Drama’ along with Empire, Grey’s Anatomy, Chicago Fire and How To Get Away With Murder.
Voting is now open at the People’s Choice Awards official website and the event will be held at Los Angeles on January 18, 2017.
Chopra, who makes waves internationally with her powerful role in Quantico, is also gearing up for the release of her Hollywood debut ‘Baywatch’, starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, which is slated to release next year.
