The girl told her mother about the incident.
In a shocking incident, a six-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by four boys – aged between 10 and 14- in Pimpri area of Pune on Saturday afternoon.
The boys, who live in Anna Saheb Magar slum, allegedly picked up the girl, who was playing alone in front of her house and took her to a spot near a scrap godown in the locality and raped her by taking turns, police said.
Later, when the parents of the girl returned home from work, the girl told her mother about the incident. The mother approached the Pimpri police station and an FIR was registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 376D (gang rape, as per the 2013 IPC amendment), 377 (unnatural act) and sections of Protection of Children from sexual Offences Act, 2012.
“After the girl told about the incident an FIR was registered. Based on what the girl told us about the accused boys, we first detained one of them and he led us to the other three. After a medical examination, the girl has now been admitted to a hospital and is being treated. She will also be provided counselling,” The Indian Express quoted senior inspector VV Muglikar, in-charge of Pimpri police station.
The four boys have been detained and have been remanded to observation after being produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.
