Sushma Swaraj is likely to undergo a kidney transplant next week.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who is in AIIMS for kidney failure, ensured that health condition certainly has not deterred her from rendering services or helping citizens in distress.
The minister answered a plea of an Indian student who had visa troubles and the action was done in a day.
On Sunday, a Twitter user named ‘Geeta Singh’ who is a PhD scholar at AIIMS’ sought Sushma Swaraj’s help for getting visa for Australia. She had applied for the visa on November on November 14 and needed it “urgently” in view of presenting research paper on December 7.
“Geeta – I am also in AIIMS. Pl come and see me here. I will do my best to help you,” the minister replied within minutes.
Despite admitted to the hospital, the action was done quickly and the students demand was met in a day. On Monday, the minister tweeted that Singh’s visa has been granted.
Swaraj, who was admitted to AIIMS on November 7, is on dialysis after suffering from kidney failure and is likely to undergo a kidney transplant next week.
