Singh denies the allegations.
Indo-British multimillionaire businessman and Big Brother star Chelsea Singh was reportedly arrested over allegations that he made ‘threats to kill’ an American celebrity interior designer during a restaurant refurbishment row.
Singh accused Catherine Ommanney of failing to finish a £75,000 makeover of his posh Windsor restaurant and bar, two months after tweeting he’d hired her for the job, reported Daily Mail.
However, Singh denies both making any threats and reports that he was arrested. He told The Sun he was asked ‘to come in to the police station to give a voluntary statement’ and was there for a maximum of three hours.
In October, Singh posted on social media: ‘Look and see who’s interior designing my restaurant and bar in Windsor. It’s called ink restaurant and bar!’
His tweet included a link revealing it was Ommanney, who retweeted the post at the time, but their relationship appears to have deteriorated rapidly since, reported the Daily Mail. She has now deleted the retweet.
Singh, 49, last week posted a series of tweets to his 40,000 followers criticizing Ommanney, who herself starred in the reality show The Real Housewives of DC.
He claimed: ‘She […] ran off without finishing the bar! ‘She’s not getting away with it no f****** way!’
He also tweeted several pictures claiming to show that the refurbishment was unfinished.
Police would not confirm whether Singh had been detained but said a 49-year-old man attended a west London police station and ‘was arrested on suspicion of threats to kill and a public order offence’.
Singh told The Sun: ‘I asked [Ommanney] to give the money back and she refused.
‘She apparently told the police that I threatened her, which I had not. I simply asked her to return my money.’
He went on to claim that the allegations were false and ‘I went home.’
Singh hit the headline back in July this year when he threatened fellow Big Brother housemate Hughie Maughan during a rant in the house. The businessman lashed out at the Irish youth worker after seemingly becoming angry with his attention-seeking behavior.
