Some say Hillary has retired from politics.
It’s been nearly a month since Hillary Clinton lost the presidential election to Republican Donald Trump and the whole world is eager to know how the former democratic presidential nominee is coping with the huge and unexpected political loss.
According to updates coming from different corners, the former Secretary of State is enjoying her quality time with the family and is said to be taking long walks in the woods around her home in Chappaqua, New York. She was recently spotted shopping for Thanksgiving dinner and visiting a book store in Rhode Island.
Margot Gerster from White Plains, who took her children for hiking, wrote about her encounter with Hillary and Bill Clinton on Facebook.
“I’ve been feeling so heartbroken since yesterday’s election and decided what better way to relax than take my girls hiking. So I decided to take them to one of the favorite places in Chappaqua,†Gerster wrote in a post which she later made private.
“As we were leaving, I heard a bit of rustling coming towards me and as I stepped into the clearing there she was, Hillary Clinton and Bill with their dogs doing exactly the same thing as I was. I got to hug her and talk to her and tell her that one of my most proudest moments as a mother was taking Phoebe me to vote for her. She hugged me and thanked me and we exchanged some sweet pleasantries and then I let them continue their walk,†she wrote.
Jessica Wick, who met Hillary at a bookstore in Rhode Island, took to Facebook and shared her experience.
“I told her I voted for her, that she meant and means a lot. I thanked her, apologizing if I was being inappropriate or intrusive, because again: privacy. We all deserve privacy. She was gracious and she was warm and she said the bookstore was beautiful. Bill Clinton shook my hand and complimented my sweater,†Ms Wick wrote.
“Clinton appears to be in the midst of a well-deserved self-care break,†says Vogue’s Contributing Editor Michelle Ruiz, but her critics and supporters know that a “30-year public servant likely isn’t going to go quietly into the night.â€
In her election concession speech, Hillary urged her supporters to never stop fighting for what they believed.
“This is painful and it will be for a long time but I want you to remember this- our campaign was never about one person or even one election. It was about the country we love and about building and America that’s hopeful, inclusive and big hearted. We have seen our nation is more deeply divided that we thought, but I still believe in America and I always will,†she said.
According to the latest reports, Hillary’s popular vote lead is nearing 2.7 million and she could possibly overtake Barack Obama’s 2012 popular vote total.
Even though Clinton will still have a fairly active political career, most people believe that she will not run for the Oval office in 2020 because of her age.
Some predict Hillary’s retirement and says that she may simply decide to step away from life in the public eye.
Clinton has previously spoken about her pleasure in being a grandmother to two-year-old Charlotte and six-month-old Aidan.
