Jaleel Khan said that he studied commerce because of his interest in mathematics and physics.
A video of Andhra Pradesh ruling party MLA has gone vial as he claimed studying maths and physics, subjects not included in any Bachelor of Commerce course, for his B.Com degree.
Jaleel Khan, Vijayawada city West MLA of Telugu Desam Party, made the statement while discussing his educational qualifications during a televised interview.
In the interview, Mr Khan said that he studied commerce because of his interest in mathematics and physics even though his affidavit submitted to the Election Commission of India says only that he passed his Matriculation (Class 10) in 1969 from SHAD Tutorial College, Vijayawada.
“Who said they are not taught in B Com? … Accounts means Physics and maths no? You’ve forgotten,†Khan said to the reporter.
He also went on to say that he scored “100 out of 100 marks in mathematics†and that he was an ace in the subject since his childhood.
Asked further, Khan said that he would have to check all his certificates to find out and clarify what he had studied exactly.
Soon after, the reporter posted the interview on Facebook and social media users started to troll the interview.
“This is nothing. When I was studying MPC in graduation, I got 100 marks in history and I achieved appreciation for my skill in dissecting frog,†Maddi Reddy poster.
“People are fools to elect them… I don’t blame the MLA,†Praveen Ananthula wrote.
Jaleel Khan was earlier a YSR congress leader, who later switched over to TDP.
