Shah Rukh Khan is also all set for a comeback on Indian television as a host of ‘TED Talks India: Nayi Soch’.
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will deliver his first-ever TED Talk in Vancouver on April 27, between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m (PDT).
The actor posted a selfie on twitter and confirmed the news.
“Off to Vancouver. Last long stint there was during ‘Pardes’ shoot… Now for TED Talks,” he wrote.
Earlier, TED Talks Curator Special Projects, Juliet Blake also took to twitter and welcomed the actor.
“Very excited to introduce @iamsrk on the TED stage this week,” she wrote.
The 51-year-old actor retweeted Blake’s post and wrote: “Looking forward to it and I hope I remember my speech!!!”
He also shared a picture from Los Angeles captioned, “Windy LA enroute Vancouver.”

TED’s official website introduces the Bollywood star as “one of the world’s biggest movie stars”, “inspired philanthropist”, and as someone who “stands up for causes ranging from the environment and water-supply issues to rural solar power.”
The website acknowledges Khan’s nonprofit Meer Foundation. “Khan’s nonprofit Meer Foundation, named for his father, focuses on supporting victims of acid attacks through a 360-degree approach that helps with medical treatment, legal aid, rehabilitation and livelihood support,” it said.

The TED conference is held annually in Vancouver, British Columbia at the Vancouver Convention Center. TED, a US-based media organization founded in 1984, posts talks online for free distribution. This year’s TED conference witnessed a special surprise appearance by Pope Francis who gave TED talk via video link-up from Vatican on Tuesday.

Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, tennis superstar Serena Williams and entrepreneur Elon Musk, chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov will also speak at this year’s event.
