Since Sharma’s reported mid-air assault of his former sidekick, the two haven’t worked together.
Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover, the two inseparable comedians of the industry who started their journey with Comedy Nights With Kapil, on ColoursTV, and moved to The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony Entertainment Television, always had each other’s back.
But a growing dispute between the two may have put an end to their working career together. The extremely talented duo won the hearts of the common mass in the past years. Reports claiming a drunk Sharma assaulting Grover on a flight broke the internet and the “fight on the flight” ultimately ended up in Grover quitting the show TKSS, where he played Dr. Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Bhabi.
While the TKSS fans requested both the comedians to patch-up, many stars also joined the chorus of people requesting them to end their fight. But all the effort seemed to be futile. Now rumors are rife that Grover has been approached by Sony TV for a brand new show. The air of fights was not even clear when Grover came up with the ultimate bang and decides to work separately launching his new show in collaboration with the same channel airing TKSS.
According to sources, the show will have a new slot and new artistes, and will not conflict with The Kapil Sharma Show. Grover reportedly had a closed-door meeting with Sony; and apparently the deal has been locked for the show.
Along with Grover, there will be many others who will be seen on the new show. Reportedly, Ali Asgar, who used to play Naani in Sharma’s show, will also be part of this new show. Joining Grover and Asgar will be Sugandha Mishra, who has been an integral part of The Kapil Sharma Show. There is another ex-TKSS member who will join this show, and he’s Sharma’s school friend Chandan Prabhakar. Apparently, all these people had witnessed Sharma and Grover’s mid-air feud that happened en route Mumbai (from Melbourne) last month around holi.
Meanwhile, on The Kapil Sharma Show, the only original members left are Kiku Sharda and Sumona Chakravarty, and Sharma is getting in place a new team.
Again, there’s a caveat. According to a report in the Hindustan Times, Grover said, “I have not signed any show on the same channel or anywhere else, for that matter. I was part of The Kapil Sharma Show and I have been out of the show for some time. I am a performer and my job is to perform and act. There are offers, but nothing has been decided yet, but I will be doing something for sure.”
Though the cloud of confusion is yet not clear about what Grover is exactly up to , we can pre-assure his return to the television world very soon.
