The president suggested the Justice Department to ask for an expedited hearing and seek a tougher version
President Donald Trump on Monday said that he wanted a “much tougher version” of the travel ban and the Justice Department should have stayed the original travel ban instead of the “watered down, politically correct version they submitted” to Supreme Court.
The president took to Twitter and in four tweets he explained his stand that undercuts his own lawyers.
“People, the lawyers and the courts can call it whatever they want, but I am calling it what we need and what it is, a TRAVEL BAN!” the first tweet read.

“The just Dept. should have stayed with the original Travel Ban, not the watered down, politically correct version they submitted to S.C” Trump wrote.

The president suggested the Justice Department to ask for an expedited hearing and seek a tougher version.
“The Justice Dept. should ask for an expedited hearing of the watered down Travel Ban before the Supreme Court – & seek much tougher version!” the president said.

He continued: “In any event we are EXTREME VETTING people coming into the U.S. in order to help keep our country safe. The courts are slow and political!”

White House spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders defended Trump and said that president isn’t concerned with what you call it.
“I don’t think the President cares what you call it, whether you call it a ban, whether you call it a restriction,” Sanders said in a White House press briefing. “He cares that we call it national security and that we take steps to protect the people of this country.”
But the president’s next tweet contradicts to what Sanders said.
“That’s right, we need a TRAVEL BAN for certain DANGEROUS countries, not some politically correct term that won’t help us protect our people!” Trump later tweeted.

According to CNN, Trump’s tweets about the ban have already been used against the lawyers arguing on his behalf.
