The film tells an untold story behind India’s partition
Reliance Entertainment on Thursday unveiled the Hindi trailer of the English language movie Partition: 1947 starring Huma Qureshi and within a day it has already garnered more than four lakh views.
Directed by Gurinder Chadha, the film tells an untold story behind India’s partition and portrays the last few months of India’s British rule. Lord Mountbatten, Jawaharlal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi, all come as characters in the film.
Originally titled Viceroy’s House, the British-Indian historical drama was released in the United Kingdom on March 3 and all set for an Indian release on August 18.
Huma Qureshi plays the role of Alia, Lord Mountbatten’s daughter’s assistant for whom his new manservant Jeet fall for.
The film also features late Om Puri. Hugh Bonneville and Gillan Anderson play Lord Mountbatten and Lady Mountbatten, respectively. Manish Dayal, Tanveer Gandhi, Denzil Smith and Neeraj Kabi are all there in the film.
The music has been composed by AR Rahman and the principal photography of the film took place in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
