Ram Madhvani’s Neerja won the award for the Best Film
The 18th edition of the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) was quite a gala time for Bollywood and saw the presence of most of the industry’s big names.
The 3-day extravaganza came to an end on Saturday in New York and despite the rain actors like Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Shahid Kapoor dazzled the Green and Red carpets.
Karan Johar and Saif Ali Khan were the hosts of the show evening and Ram Madhvani’s Neerja won the award for the Best Film.
Udta Punjab won big at the MetLife Stadium as Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor won the Best Actor awards in the Female and Male category respectively while Diljit Dosanjh selected as the Best Debutant.
Pink director Aniruddha Roy Chodhury took home the award for Best Director and Taapsee Pannu was selected for the Woman of The Year award.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil bagged the awards for Best Music Director, Best Lyricist and Best Singer Male and music maestro A R Rahman was honored for his contributions to the Indian cinema in the last 25 years.
