Shah, whose series credits include Comedy Central’s South Park and ABC’s Cougar Town, also writes for Vice.com.
Fox has bought Indian American Sanjay Shah’s single-camera comedy Model Minorities directed and executively produced by Jonathan Krisel and 20th Century Fox TV.
Model Minorities, which is written by Shah, portrays the lives of two Indian American couple who move to the US.
Jonathan Krisel, who is the co-creator of Portlandia and Baskets along with his wife Danica Radovanov, will join Shah to produce the series.
The story develops when the two cousins, one a highly educated and the other uneducated but rich, experience an immigrant life.
Shah is also the executive producer of the TV Series Fresh Off the Boat which aired 51 episodes during the period 2015 – 2017.
Shah started his career as a standup comedian and his writing career kick-started with an animated comedy series by the named King of the Hill for Fox/20th TV.
He was a co-executive producer on the Fox/20th TV comedy series Enlisted before joining ABC/20th TV’s Fresh Off the Boat, from creator/showrunner Nahnatchka Khan.
