United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Mark Green will visit India from November 28 to December 1.
Green, along with USAID’s Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator and Senior Coordinator for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Michelle Bekkering, will participate in the eighth annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in Hyderabad. He will also visit several USAID programs, and meet with senior officials of the Government of India, US Embassy India said in a press release.
During GES, a preeminent business gathering that welcomes over 1,500 entrepreneurs, investors, and supporters from innovation from 150 countries, Green will meet with female entrepreneurs, and discuss how women can become more active in the economic development of their communities.
Administrator Green will also visit a diagnostic lab to meet with public health professionals, tuberculosis survivors, and corporate-sector representatives, whose joint efforts are advancing India’s goal of becoming tuberculosis-free by 2025.
He will then travel to national capital New Delhi to meet with Government of India officials to discuss strengthening the United States–India strategic partnership. Green will also visit a USAID project site focused on water, sanitation, and health, which is advancing the Indian Government’s goal of providing clean water and sanitation to everyone in India.
Green will conclude his India trip in Mumbai on December 1, where he will participate in an event to commemorate World AIDS Day.
