Neeta Bhasin, the CEO and president of ASB Communications and EVENTGURU Inc., has received the South Asian Women Empowerment Award presented by Bindu Kohli of Bindu Kohli Entertainment.
In an event held on the eve of International Women’s Day, March 7, Bhasin received the award from Miss World 2017 Manushi Chillar in a glittering ceremony held at Leonards in Great Neck, New York.
Twelve women, who have achieved tremendous success against all odds and are strong and powerful mentors and role models for other South Asian women, received the award this year.
Bhasin was recognized for her exceptional contribution in diversity marketing and for being the visionary behind biggest South Asian celebration in New York – Diwali at Times Square, which is held every year to showcase, engage and educate all, about India’s arts, culture, and colorful diversity.
Bhasin’s passion for community works related to women’s empowerment also earned her a Proclamation from New York State Senator Hon. Jose Peralta, which was presented to her by Dilip Chauhan, former Deputy of Nassau County in New York, on the same day.
Her organization, ASB Communications, provides integrated marketing solutions to companies looking to target the ethnic markets in North America and Canada.
The company serves a wide range of clients, including Sling International, Dish Network, International Broadcasters Coalition for Anti-Piracy (IBCAP), Diwali at Times Square, Cricket All Stars, Reliance Foundation, Reliance India Call, LT Foods-Royal Foods, Western Union, Moneygram, Oxigen USA, Times Now, and Zoom TV.
Bhasin was awarded the Mahatma Gandhi Samman in the House of Lords in London on Sept 2015. She received the “Excellence in Media Outreach to Multicultural Markets” at the Asian American Festival of Long Island. She was also one of the honorees for “50 Outstanding Asian Americans in Business” in 2008.
