The Friday dinner will be held at the Houdini Estate.
Prominent Indian American Trump donor Shalabh “Shalli” Kumar will host blockbuster Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for a Hollywood Thanksgiving dinner.
The attendance is “by invitation-only,” and only a “small number of distinguished guests from business and industry” has been invited, according to a release by Kumar’s company AVG.
The party, jointly hosted by the Republican donor and his adopted daughter, Manasvi, a former Miss India, will be held at the Houdini Estate in Los Angeles on Friday.
The release said the dinner will also be a unique culinary experience in Indo-American fusion dining, featuring musical and other entertainment treats.
The estate was the home of legendary magician Harry Houdini until his death in 1926.
“AVG chose the Houdini Estate as the venue for this event for its unique mystique of lights and sounds along with mesmerizing visual effects,” the release said. “It is a large 5 acre estate with lots of well-lit trails for those who want to enjoy the nature.”
Kumar is a Chicago businessman who founded AVG Group of companies. He is also the founder of the Republican Hindu Coalition, which mobilized Indian Americans for the Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential election.
He was invited for a private screening of Bhansali’s most recent hit, Padmaavat, which was released at the beginning of the year. The Indian American businessman had given a ringing endorsement for the film, which went on to become one of the highest-grossing Bollywood movies of all time, raking in close to $90 million.
