Kapadia will be seen in Christopher Nolan’s next movie Tenet, starring Robert Pattinson and Michael Caine.
The latest Bollywood actress to make her Hollywood debut is Dimple Kapadia, heartthrob of the 1970s and ’80s.
Kapadia, who rose to superstardom in India with the mega-hit blockbuster Bobby in 1973, will be next seen in Hollywood film Tenet.
And since Kapadia is selectively seen in Bollywood, too, these days, the news does come as a surprise. However, the actress is yet to speak about her role.
Tenet is the upcoming and highly anticipated next project of Christopher Nolan. The Academy Award nominated director, best known for his Batman trilogy, is known for keeping word about future projects under tight wraps, so it’s no surprise that details about Kapadia’s role are yet to be revealed. However, the cast of the film has been released and it includes Robert Pattinson, Kenneth Branagh, Elizabeth Debicki and Michael Caine.
Kapadia’s manager Purvi Lavingia Vats told IANS: “I pitched Dimple for the part and things fell into place. While the prospect of working with Christopher Nolan sounded very exciting, she was a bit hesitant in the beginning as there was not much information on the role. I still sent footage of her work to the casting office and they really liked what they saw. After a more detailed brief was sent to us, she then decided to audition. The casting director was then flown from Los Angeles to Mumbai and he and Nolan met with her. The rest was history.”
There are also some reports that a part of the film will be shot in India. Nolan has experience shooting in the country, as a portion of his, The Dark Knight Rises, had been shot in India.
Film review website Rotten Tomatoes recently posted an image of the cast of Tenet on its Instagram.
