India’s very own comedian Vir Das will be a part of a very coveted performers list at the 2019 edition of New York Comedy Festival, which runs from November 4 to 10 in Big Apple.
Das will perform on November 8 at 7.00 pm at the Town Hall.

Spread across 7 days and 5 boroughs, the event will see more than 100 shows, which will be held at venues such as the Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall, Beacon Theater, Town Hall and at retail giant Bloomingdale’s flagship store in New York City.
Other renowned comedians that will perform include Comedy Central’s Trevor Noah, HBO’s Bill Maher and CBS’ Stephen Colbert.
Noah will perform on November 8, at the largest venue of the festival, Madison Square Garden, as part of his “Loud & Clear Tour.”
The weeklong festival, featuring some of America’s biggest names in comedy and entertainment, will see more than 200 comedians, entertainers, TV and podcast hosts coming together to make the audience laugh and smile with their quick wit and humor.
On the sidelines of the event, there will be live improve, sketch comedy, podcasts, film screenings and pop-up shows.
The line-up announcement for this year was made earlier this week. More shows and performer announcements would come through in the next few weeks.
This is the 16th edition of the New York Comedy Festival. With an ever-impressive list of performers each year, the event has come to be recognized as one of the most illustrious in the comedy genre.
The inclusion of Das, who has made a name for himself in the United States, is no surprise. His satire and pointed takes on American social and political landscape, ranging from racism to Trump, has won him many fans in America.
He has been wowing the American audiences with his comedy special, Losing It, on Netflix, which began streaming it last year. This year he also made his debut on American TV with the series Whiskey Cavalier on ABC
Das was the first Indian comedian to have a comedy show on Netflix back in 2017 with Abroad Understanding.
Losing It, his second Netflix Special, was shot in San Francisco. In 2018, he also debuted on the show Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
Tickets for the event go on sale beginning Sunday, August 12, on the festival’s website.
