After an overnight stay, they were supposed to be driving back to their home in Ohio next day. According to troopers, Jitu Galani, who was driving a Honda CRV missed the entrance to Carter Caves State Resort Park, where the family was planning to camp.
He put the vehicle in reverse to head back toward the entrance. In that moment, the vehicle went over an embankment, fell into a creek.
While 9-year-old Aarush was able to free himself from the car, the other three died in the accident. All four members were wearing seat belts. Aarush was able to flag off for help. While he escaped with minor injuries his sibling Advik and parents were not as lucky.
The local school in Beavercreek, where the fourth grader studied, has offered condolences and assured that support and counseling will be made available.
The family has relatives in the US. While their brother stays in Texas, they also have cousins in Seattle. A cousin in Seattle has also started a GoFundMe page to help Aarush have a secure future.

The fund raiser says, “Aarush has an overwhelming amount of healing ahead of him. While he will always be surrounded and supported by all of us (his family), your donations will help us build him a life that he deserves and desires.
“It will help provide him with the support to cope with this immeasurable loss and let grief walk beside him as his strength rather than his weakness. Aarush’s survival is a miracle, it was destined and we know he is put on this earth to do wonderful things.”
