Indian Americans have a “memorable” Diwali with Trump

Former President lights the lamp at Diwali celebrations organised by Republican Hindu Coalition at Mar-a-Lago

Calling “Bharat and America Sabse Acche Dost” (India and America best friends), former President Donald Trump joined prominent Indian Americans for “memorable” Diwali celebrations at his Mar-a-Lago, Palm Beach, Florida resort.

Indians from various walks of life attending the grand event cheered as Trump lit the traditional lamp at the Diwali celebrations organised by the Republican Hindu Coalition (RHC) on Friday at the resort owned by him.

Addressing the gathering, Trump acknowledged that but for RHC’s conversion of 400,000 votes in the battleground states in 2016, he would not have won the presidency, according to one of the attendees.

“I must say, It was an amazing and memorable event,” California based, immigration consultant Netra Chavan told the American Bazaar on phone from South Florida complimenting RHC, founder chairman Shalabh “Shalli” Kumar for “pulling off such a beautiful event successfully.”

Trump also promised to champion the cause of saving DALCA kids (legal H-4 visa holder kids) from deportation and support legislation to cut the green card backlog.

Declaring once again that he loves Hindus and India, he said, “Shalli and Trump Sabse Acche Dost And Bharat and America Sabse Acche Dost” and called Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi “a great friend” as the gathering clapped.

Trump said that if he decides to run for President in 2024, Shalli Kumar will be the head of his Hindu Coalition. He would also make the strongest recommendation to have Shalli Kumar appointed as Chairman of Hindu Coalitions of RNC, NRCC and NSRC (Republican National Committee, National Republican Congressional Committee and National Republican Senate Committee).

He acknowledged the depth of talent in the RHC executive body and promised that if re-elected, many of these members of RHC will serve in his administration and he will appoint Shalli Kumar to be US ambassador to India, according to Chavan.

Trump also promised to attend the ground breaking ceremony of Hindu Holocaust Memorial and invite Modi to join.

He said he will work hard to prevent the sale of any military hardware to Pakistan including any F16s and promised sustained tariffs on Chinese imports.

Trump also promised to write a forward for Shalli Kumar’s upcoming book “Chinese Colonization of America 2049 and the Only Man Who Can Stop it.”

Trump also acknowledged Shalli Kumar, Vikram Kumar, Haribhai Patel and Satish Vemana for organizing the Diwali event at his home at Mar-a-Lago.

“It was indeed my pleasure to be with all the incredible executives that were a part of this special night,” said Chavan. “My heartfelt best wishes to all Indian American community leaders serving the community through various programs, services, and advocacy for people of all ages and life stages.”
