The Tamil Nadu Foundation (TNF) Chicago Chapter kicked off the commemoration of the organization’s 50th anniversary on October 7th. The occasion served as the launchpad for its upcoming golden jubilee celebrations, scheduled to be held from May 24th to 26th, 2024, in Rosemont, IL, according to a press release from the organization.
Founded in 1974, TNF is a non-profit organization that has dedicated itself to fostering civic dialogue between communities in India. Through a multitude of programs, TNF strives to promote engagement within global business and philanthropic communities.
The golden jubilee celebration will consist of a variety of events that will bring together people from various generations around the world, the release stated. In addition to celebrating key moments from the past, TNF aims to inspire those attending to continue their pursuit of progress for Tamilians worldwide.

The kickoff event, hosted at the Yellow Box Auditorium in Naperville, IL, attracted more than 700 guests, including government officials, corporate leaders, and members of civil society. The evening featured inspiring talks from two members of Congress, Rep. Dr. Bill Foster, who represents the 11th congressional district of Illinois, and Indian American Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, representing the 8th district.
The foundation honored the two congressmen for their contributions to the State of Illinois and the nation, particularly in the realm of high-skilled immigration.
One of the highlights of the event was a stand-up comedy performance by Adhavan, an actor and mimicry artist from India, and a four-hour live music performance by the QFR team.
Endorsed by the Federation of Tamil Associations of North America (FETNA), this milestone event is designed to inspire and engage the next generation while eliminating administrative costs.
