Among those performing at the first concert were Grammy-winning composer & pianist Fernando Otero, producer/guitarist/GCI co-founder Brian Forbes, and internationally awarded clarinet virtuoso Alexander Bedenko.
Singaporean harmonica prodigy Cy Leo, break-dance champion BBoy Lokito and renowned keyboardist & producer Ray Angry of the legendary Roots crew rounded out the night.
Host Roubini, Microsoft garage director and the PDF creator, Mike Pell, UN representative Patricia Cortes, philanthropists Jonathan Greenwald and Thomas Pluta, and the internationally awarded educator, GCI artistic director Vita Kogan gave emotional speeches.
The art exhibition was presented by established Russian-American painter and sculptor Grigory Gurevich, while high profile guests were treated to a culinary art by another GCI Planet supporter – the famous Unregular Pizza.
The apogee of the evening was a spectacular violin performance by Masha Brodskaya, while she was painted by renowned LA-based artist & designer Phree. The painted suit was auctioned for the benefit of GCI Planet.
“It’s proven that music is a power that heals bodies and minds,” said Brodskaya. “To create life-changing opportunities, to give these children another reason to wake up, fight, get better, and smile – is my goal as an artist and GCI leader.”
“Children are our future, and it’s the most important to support them, especially those who are in need and isolation,” added Roubini.
“Masha and GCI Planet are reinvigorating and reimagining what musical performance and perception are,” said Pell.
“Music is a universal language, and GCI’s mission of uniting people in the name of arts, love, and peace is truly noble,” added Cortes.
