It will be Gabbard’s second marriage.

WASHINGTON, DC: A month after announcing her engagement, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) has finally revealed the identity of her fiancé.
Until now, the only nugget of info gleaned by the media has been that Gabbard’s future husband is a cinematographer.
On February 16, the groom was revealed to be 26-year-old Abraham Williams, who was born in New Zealand but raised in Hawaii.
According to Hawaii News Now, Williams popped the question with a 1.17-carat diamond ring during a sunset surfing session when Gabbard was visiting during Thanksgiving. Since both Gabbard and Abraham consider the Hawaiian archipelago their mutual home, they are planning to tie the knot there in April.
“Now who are we to refer to as Congress’ ‘most eligible’ if not Gabbard?” asked The Washington Post. The political website The Hill had dubbed the 33-year-old Democrat “the Hawaiian Heartbreaker,” putting her No. 6 on its list of 50 most beautiful people on Capitol Hill.
“I don’t understand that, I don’t pay attention to that noise,” Gabbard, who will keep her maiden name, told the Honolulu Star Advertiser. “Both Abraham and I are generally kind of private people. He has nothing to do with politics. He’s a humble, great guy who doesn’t want to be in the limelight, so this is something new to the both of us.”
The 33-year-old congresswoman was married once before but divorced shortly after she returned from a tour of duty in Iraq as part of the Hawaii National Guard. Gabbard told the Honolulu Civil Beat that the divorce was a result of “the stresses war places on military spouses and families,” adding that her deployments led to her changed views on abortion and same-sex marriage.
