‘Pee Tea’ with a smile.

NEW DELHI: Here is something that no Bollywood film or TV serial – including the often hate-laden themed saas-bahu Indian soaps – has shown on screen as a novel, but sickening form of revenge: a woman had the last laugh on her in-laws by offering them urinated-laced tea for a whole year, till she got caught.
The incident took place in Madhya Pradesh, where 30-year-old Rekha Nagvanshi, who had a strained relationship with her husband’s parents for interfering in the couple’s day-to-day affairs, was found peeing in the tea pot as a method of retribution.
According to an NDTV report, Rekha was caught red handed by her mother-in-law in the kitchen while she was urinating in the tea pot and on questioning, she confessed to having done this for the whole year.
Rekha got married to Deepak four years back but their marriage soon hit rough terrain and they separated, and started to live in separate houses. But, on the request and cajoling of family members, both of them decided to mend their relationship for the sake of their daughter and started life afresh. They started to live under one roof again.
But Rekha got irritated after Deepak’s parents, who visited them regularly, asked him to stop doing household work and hand over all the chores over to his wife. She then decided to exact some revenge, or rather give some ‘pee tea’ time to her in-laws.
On coming to know about the filthy treatment they received at the hands of their daughter-in-law, it’s not known what exactly transpired (or the decibels of shouting that went on, and for how long) but they went to the police station to lodge a formal complaint. They were in for a new shock though. They were sent back by the police saying that they cannot do anything about the matter.
Mirror quoted Rekha’s mother-in-law Suraj as saying, “She always smiled and offered us tea and we accepted. But one day I went into the kitchen and found her peeing into the teapot. You cannot urinate into someone’s tea for a year and get away with it. We want justice.”
Rekha’s friend Pal Kohli was quoted by Daily Mail as saying, “Rekha is strong-minded and likes to be independent and the thought of being dictated to by his parents was just too much for her. So I guess that’s when she decided to start doing what she did, and urinating in their tea.”
