BENGALURU: A belated and rather unwanted birthday ‘gift’ came in the form of an arrest warrant for singer Mika Singh, the brother of popular singer Daler Mehndi, as the Delhi police took him into custody on the basis of an FIR registered by a physician who was publicly slapped and assaulted by Singh and his bodyguards at a meet in April, in Delhi, organized by the Delhi Ophthalmological Society.
According to media reports, Mika Singh, while singing during a concert organized by DOS, asked his male and female fans to maintain a distance from each other. Towards the end of the show, Mika ordered his henchmen to drag onto the stage one of the physicians who allegedly breached the ridiculous ‘line of control’ and danced along with some females.

The physician was thereafter manhandled by Mika’s bodyguards, and brought to the stage. Mika then verbally abused the physician, who stood defenceless, surrounded by the singer goon’s bodyguards. Mika then slapped the physician on his face, and ordered him to leave the stage.
The whole unsavoury event was captured on video, which is now been used against the singer as the primary evidence.
At no point of time did the doctor showed any signs of violence and he can be seen in the video totally scared and confused by the aggressive behavior of the singer.
When asked about his rude behaviour, Singh said, “I called him up on stage, and asked him whether he would feel just as comfortable doing the same actions on stage or in front of his family. He continued his tirade of swearing after which I lost my cool which I probably shouldn’t have and slapped him.”
Later, the Indian Medical Association asked to boycott Mika Singh and demanded his arrest.
Mika Singh, who celebrated his 38th birthday on Wednesday, was granted bail by the Delhi police on a personal bond of Rs. 20,000.

Most of the entertainers are congenial and submissive. They are diplomatic and charming to the point of disbelief. He got intoxicated with female adulation and his entourage made him feel like a King for a moment. He thought he could get away with anything. He probably would have, if not for the one who got slapped happened to be a professional.
Even if this doctor was drunk and disorderly as claimed by Mika, for delivering this humiliation and punishment, the fact could have been that this doctor was having a good time and more exuberant than his colleagues. Mika, had no reason to summon to him to the stage and slap him. The doctor and his colleagues were the ones who invited Mika Singh,in the first place and it is obvious that the doctor was not gate crashing on Mika’s Show. What Mika did was akin to getting invited to a wedding and slapping the best man in the wedding. This is not only a good etiquette but borders on criminal behavior,
For an artist like Mika Singh to slap a member of his own audience, who belonged to the very group that provided a gig for this man to enrich himself, is the height of arrogance and stupidity. Most of the entertainers are not stupid, infact, they are smarter than an average audience.
This man should serve jail sentence and the court should set an example to other entertainers that they should never ever-bite the hand that feeds them.
