Pepsi P1 will be a run-of-the-mill product, allege reports.

Pepsi, a company best known for its international range of beverages, is planning to announce its own Android smartphone, according to multiple reports from Android insider websites.
The so-called Pepsi P1 looks to be a run-of-the-mill, budget-priced Android 5.1 Lollipop smartphone. At about $205, the P1 will reportedly come with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 1.7GHz processor, 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, and a 3,000 milliamp-hour battery.
The purported device will also boast a 13-megapixel camera on the back and a 5-megapixel camera on the front.
A leaked image shows what appears to be capacitive buttons below the screen (though they could be physical ones) and possibly a fingerprint sensor on the back, just below the camera.
It’s probable that the Pepsi Phone will remain a foreign endeavor if it ever does come to fruition since PepsiCo. China is the only section of the multinational corporation to be associated with it thus far. One of the most significant ambiguities about the launch is Pepsi’s lack of any proper manufacturing plants for smartphones.
Pepsi will supposedly charge just ¥1,299 — about $205 U.S. — for the device, which was likely designed by a more experienced telecom manufacturer via contract.
Android Headlines also noted that it is possible that the Pepsi Phone leak isn’t promoting an actual smartphone, but a new dedicated Pepsi app. If the product does form into a handset, it’s probable the soda company could be using this as a medium to promote its other products.
