WASHINGTON, DC: A drunken argument over whether Android or Apple smartphones present the better option escalated to the point of becoming a violent melee early Friday, reported the Smoking Gun.
According to Tulsa police, roommates Jiaro Mendez and Elias Acevedo were outside their apartment around 1 a.m. when their debate turned bloody. The two men allegedly slashed each other with broken beer bottles; both suffered minor wounds during the fight and were transported to a local hospital for treatment of cuts and bruises.
According to the official police report, responding officers first found Mendez, who “was covered in blood and had lacerations to his head and body.” He told officers that his roommate, Acevedo, had hit him in the head with a bottle and stolen his car.
After taking Mendez to the hospital, the police arrested Acevedo at the pair’s residence. He, like Mendez, was “highly intoxicated” and had several lacerations from the altercation.
The report also noted there was “a significant amount of blood spatter on the rear of [Mendez’s] vehicle.”
It also stated there was another male with them drinking in the parking lot whose identity is unknown. It is believed the individual may be a friend of Acevedo who lives elsewhere in the apartment complex.
Mendez and Acevedo were each booked into the county jail for felony assault with a deadly weapon. Both men are being held without bond, while an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold has also been placed on the 21-year-old Acevedo, according to jail records obtained by the Smoking Gun.
