The Joint Commissioner of Delhi Police Dependra Pathak was quoted by IANS saying that the victim, a Delhi University student, has identified the accused and that he “was aware that police was looking for him and as such was on the run. We nabbed him from the same area (Tilak Nagar),”
He also added that more details will be revealed to the media as and when the investigating officer submits his report.
Jasleen had on Sunday posted a picture of her alleged abuser on the Facebook wall with a short note that read: “A man made obscene comments at me today (Sunday) at around 8 pm near Aggarwal, Tilak Nagar. He was on a silver Royal Enfield, vehicle number DL 4S CE 3623. When I told him I am clicking his picture and I’m going to file a complaint against him, he responded by posing for a picture and said, “Jo kar sakti hai kar le. Complaint karke dikha, fir dekhiyo kya karta hun main (Do whatever you like. Complain and see what I do then),”

The police arrested the alleged abuser from Tilak Nagar area on Monday and an FIR has been registered against him under Section 354(a), 506 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code.
According to Jasleen, more than 20 people were at the traffic island when the accused made offensive remarks. She was quoted saying that the inaction of the people made her more depressed than the remarks.
The incident happened in a traffic island when Jasleen was trying to cross the road and the accused in his silver bullet came in front of her. When she asked why he violated the red signal, he made obscene remarks.
The accused is now facing trial in the court with charges ranging from sexual harassment, criminal intimidation and use of obscene language and gesture intended to insult the modesty of women. The Delhi Police have for long been criticized for their inability to curb violence against women but this time they have done a commendable job by nabbing the culprit within 24 hours of posting his image on Facebook.
