Several prominent Indian Americans, ranging from business and political leaders to entertainers, have condemned on social media Friday’s terror attacks in Paris. So far 129 people have died in coordinated strikes in six different locations in the French capital.
Islamic State, which controls vast swaths of land in Iraq and Syria, has claimed the responsibility for the strikes.
Among those criticized the attacks is New York-based writer Salman Rushdie, a prominent critic of radical Islam.
“Great grief for the fallen, anger at the fanaticism that has created a vile mutation in the heart of Islam, & contempt for the but brigade,” Rushdie, whose book Satanic Verses was banned in many Islamic countries, as well as in India, tweeted.
