The son of Afzal Guru, the terrorist who attacked India’s Parliament and hanged three years ago for his crime, has scored 95% marks in the 10th standard examinations conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Examination.
Ghalib Guru, 16, wants to become a doctor, said reports.
Ghalib told DNA, “Abu (Afzal Guru) always wanted me to concentrate on my studies. I want to live his dream and become a doctor. I want to be a neurologist because I love to do miracles. I have already started preparing for that. I have enrolled myself in Super 50 course.”
However, Afzal Guru’s wife Tabasum Guru, told The Hindustan Times that all she wanted was a “normal and peaceful life” for her family.
“We are a normal family. I want my son to lead a normal life. We have nothing to do with politics,” Tabasum said. “When we went to buy rotis from baker this morning, Ghalib’s name was on everyone’s lips. Even Ghalib’s classmates’ parents called us in this morning to congratulate us for his successes,” she added, to DNA.
