The public gathering called by Delhi Chief Minister Aravind Kejriwal to mark the success of his government’s odd-even scheme on Delhi vehicles got interrupted when a woman threw ink at the AAP Chief, alleging a “CNG scam”.
Kejriwal’s speech was abruptly interrupted at the Chhatrasal Stadium in north Delhi when a woman carrying a ink bottle approached in front of the stadium and threw ink at the CM.
The woman has been identified as Bhawna Arora, who was part of the AAP party before the split in Punjab. Bhawna was detained by the Delhi police soon after the incident and as she was being taken out Bhawna said “A very big scam has happened. I have proof. They have done CNG scam.”
As the woman was taken away by the police, Kejriwal, whose speech got interrupted, asked the police officials to let the woman go.
“She is talking about a scam. Take papers from her. Let her go,” he said.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia alleged conspiracy and attacked Bharatiya Janata Party and Delhi Police for the incident, saying it as a planned attack to tarnish the success of the government’s odd-even scheme
“There was no security provided by Delhi Police. It is a conspiracy by the BJP and Delhi Police is also involved in it,” Sisodia said after the incident.
“Who will take the responsibility if any woman or man throws acid at Delhi’s chief minister where thousands of people are sitting. What if a bomb goes off,” he asked.
The official statement from AAP read “At a time when Delhi Police claimed to be on a high alert after ‘fidayeen’ attack in Pathankot, it is unimaginable that in this state of alertness, an ordinary woman easily breaches the security cordon of the Delhi Police and attacks Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal without connivance of Delhi Police officials.”
