TN CM may be discharged from hospital soon, said reports.
Rumors have been doing the rounds ever since Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa was admitted to the hospital for fever and dehydration.
But, BJP leader and Member of Parliament Subramanian Swamy has been following and tweeting about the health status of Jayalalithaa since she was admitted to Apollo hospital in Chennai on September 22.
On Wednesday, Swamy tweeted that the leader’s health is improving and she could be discharged soon. He said that Jayalalithaa got back her consciousness and it is a miracle.
“JJ bhaktas should be happy because I learn that JJ has got back her consciousness and may be discharged soon. If so, it is a miracle,” tweeted Swamy.
While a panel of expert doctors has been treating the chief of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), Swamy has been tweeting about the health status of Jayalalithaa. At one point he advised Jayalalithaa to go to Singapore for better treatment. Earlier he had tweeted that she would be taken to Singapore, a claim which turned out to be wrong.
In September, Swamy asked the union government to declare President’s rule in Tamil Nadu until Jayalalithaa recovers and assumes charge.
“I urge the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to invoke Article 356 of the Constitution, put the Legislative Assembly in suspended animation and impose the AFSPA in southern districts as well as in Chennai for a period of six months till Ms. Jayalalithaa is able to attend the office,” he said in a press release.
When legislator Panneerselvam was appointed to chair the cabinet, Swamy claimed that it was because of his plea to declare president’s rule.
Earlier, the Madras High Court had ordered Tamil Nadu state government to inform the court about the health status of the chief minister. While Jayalalithaa is being treated at the hospital, retired IAS officer Sheela Balakrishnan, 62, a confidante of the chief minister, has taken control of the state administration.
The workers and supporters of AIADMK are conducting prayers across the state for their leader’s progress. The opposition parties in Tamil Nadu have asked AIADMK to release pictures or video of the chief minister to end the rumors about her condition.
