About 84 people, including children and women, lost their lives when chaos was unleashed by a suspected terrorist who rammed a truck into the crowd celebrating Bastille Day in Nice, France.
Even in the midst of the inhuman attack that targeted innocent people who gathered to celebrate the French holiday, some lived up to the situation, helping the wounded and those lost in the chaos following the attack.
An eight-month-old baby boy who was lost in the commotion following the deadly attack was rescued by a woman named Tiava Banner, who later used Facebook to reunite the boy with his parents.
Banner, after finding the boy in the middle of the chaos rescued him and took him to her house. Shortly after that she posted a photo of the boy along with her and said that she was not the mother of the baby and needed help in finding his whereabouts. She described the color and type of the baby dress so that somebody will identify the baby.
Within a few hours, Banner’s post was shared over a thousand time and finally, she wrote “Found! Thank you, Facebook and all those who helped us.”
A member of the family contacted by AFP on Friday said, “A young woman found him and took him home with her. She then went online and found the photo of the baby on Facebook.”
Hundreds of family members and friends of people who went to see the Bastille day firework took to Facebook seeking information, but, some weren’t as lucky as the baby boy. Authorities have now confirmed that 84 people have been killed in the attack and over 50 children are hospitalized with injuries.
